Joyce, an action to force defendant to comply with an alleged contract to take over an hotel, the Chief Justice this morning gave judgment for defendant, without costs. In tho case of Baxter (appellant) v. Harvey (respondent), an appeal from a conviction for having soles and flounders under the regulation size in his possession, the Chief Justice allowed the appeal, with Buven guineas costs. The fish were taken within Hark's Bays (?), and within seven miles of the nearestshore. The question was whether theße were New Zealand waters, and his Honor held they were not. A decree absolute was granted in the divorce case of Prouse v. Frouse. DUNEDIN, Oct. 2. In Bankruptcy the Judge suspended for six months the discharge of Henry Goodman, trainer. In the matter of Henry Benjamin the Judge ordered it to stand over till after the sitting of the' Court of Appeal.
