[Special to the "Stab. J AUCKLAND, July 25. Mr Cad man addressed a crowded audience i of 2000 people at the City Hall last night, j He gave a straightforward explanation of j his connection with the Umutaoroa block, j and evidently carried the audience almost j unanimously with him. Before and after the speech he was cheered, the audience standing and the ladies in the dress circle waving their handerchief s. Mr Cadman was given apatient hearing, except for what was apparently a deliberate disturbance by some few pitites. At the instance of Mr Cadman's Committee, a vote of thanks was j proposed and carried amidst cheers. Much • amusement was caused by the presentation j of two dozen written questions, every one of which had been answered in the course | of the speech. The audience pronounced j so, very emphatically. Though Mr Cadman j was handicapped by being unable to make his voice fill so large a hall, it was very [ evident that be had large support, and the hopes of his party have gone up con-' siderably.
