CRICKET.
The Australian Team, [Special to Pbess Association.] LONDON, July 24. The match between the Australians and Middlesex Eleven began at Lord's to-day. The County team comprised Lucas, West, Cornish, Westhorp, Phillips, Ford, Bawlin, J. Hearne, O'Brien, Douglas and Scott. W. Giffen, Jarvis and Coningham stand out of the Colonial team. Stoddart having injured hiß leg was unable to take part in the match. The Australians in their first innings scored 147 runs. Blackham 42 and Trumble not 61 were the highest scorers. Lyon, Giffen, Banaerman and Gregory were all dismissed without scoring, and the first five wickets fell with only 26 runs on the sheet. Hearne'a bowling was almost unplayable, and he took three wickets for five runs. The Middlesex team was all disposed of for 78 runs in the first innings.
