RAISING THE CENTENNIAL.
SYDNEY, Not. IS. The- steamer Centennial, which sunk in the harbour in August last by collision with the steamer Kanahooka, has been raised, and towed fifty yards-towards the shore. CABLE DUPLICATION. It is expected that the Cabinet will to-morrow consider tUe question of duplication of the New Zealand cable. The Ministry -as a whole recognise the desirableness of duplicating the cable, but como influential members of the House are strongly averse to anything savouring of, grauting.protection against competition.
