The match was a" most enjoyable and friendly one, and all appeared thoroughly' satisfied with the amusement provided. The excellent lunch provided by Mr Burke, of the Southern Cross '•. Hotel, was " thoroughly appreciated and eulogised. , The Dixon Bfoth^rß were towers of strength for the "fleshers," although the defence of the veteran Lane was almost up to that of in jte stubbornness. For the other Bide Brunsdon and Lloyd did yeomen's service, but they were met by muoh too strong a team. The Bakers are not' quite satisfied with their defeat, an\l another match is on the {opts between -the Butchers and Bakers and Millers combined. The scores were :— Bakers, 38 and 80; Batchers, 114, and 12 for three wickets. For the Bakers Brunsdon (16 and 80) was the chief, contributor, while for the Butchers F. Dixon (32) and G.
