ALLEGED EXTENSIVE STEALING AND RECEIVING.
At the Resident Magistrate's Court this morning, before E. Westenra and W. H. Lance, h,sq., C. T. Harris and Thomas Potter were charged with stealing from the D.I.C. 100 yards of cricketing flannel, 24 yards of electric flannel, one case of flannels, two pieces of holland, and two pieces of silesia, of the total value of JESO. John Wilson was charged with receiving 124 yards of flannel, knowing it to have been stolen. W. H. Gillbanks was charged with receiving one case of flannel, and Daniel Marks wa6 charged with receiving two pieces of holland and two pieces of silesia, knowing the goods to have been stolen. Mr Stringer appeared for Gillbanks and Wilson ; the othere were undefended. The police stated that other charges would be brought against the prisoners, and asked for a remand of eight clear days. The Bench remanded all the accused until next Monday week. Bail was allowed to Gillbanks and Wilson, themselves in JIOO each, and two sureties of JEoO each.
