COURSING.

Waterloo Cup Meeting, 1883. THIS DAY. There was a very good attendanoe this morning on the ground and atand when the coursing commenced, and later in the day there were about five hundred people present. The etand was exceedingly well patronised, and a number of ladies graced the proceedings. The eport proved very interesting, but unfortunately moat of the hares were killed. The weather turned out very oold. The Judge and Slipper got through their work very well. Bannerman led Lulu, and won easily when be killed. J Parmesan led by six lengths and turned, placed the bitch for next, both got level, and some beautiful work followed, in which the dog always showed beat, and won a moat exciting trial with a kill. Sir George led Taraban a good three lengths, and scored flrst, some nice work

Another good trial followed, in j j whioh Azalea had it all her own way, and ; killed, Gent never having a ohance. Bell thon got placed, aud made matters very brisk, doing some good work, but towards the finish Olio oame again, and pulled puss down very shortly. Seourity was first np, and a short spin followed, Pixie killing before she had much chance of rnbbing out her opponents' points. Belisarins was ted several lengths by Bridegroom, and failed signally to upheld the reputation he has obtained this season, and he was scarcely ever dangerous in a fair spin, in wbioh Bridegroom pulled down the hare. Mistletoe was up first by some four l«ngths, and, after turning, plaoed Seadrift. When in front of the stand some pretty wrenohes were made, and the dog looked like winning, but the bitch resumed her position and won a really good trial when the hare was killed at the hurdles. Wainui and Maggie ran an undecided, through the latter getting unsighted. Another undcoided followed between Alohemist and Bockwood,. the latter leading and Alchemist killing off the turn. Hopbitterß and Solway were the next to travel. The former proved faster, and quiokly killed, sending up the flag without difficulty. Wainui and Maggie raced level for a long distance, and then the former drew out a couple ef lengths and sent puss round to Maggie, but quiokly re-raining her position she won a very nice trial with plenty to spare, when puss got away. Bockwood led Alohemist, and put the hare to bim; tome capital olose work followed, but the brindle always had the paoe of his opponent, and when Alchemist killed and won a capitally contested oourse. A very exciting *ri»l followed between Miranda and Tease j Miranda first led, and driving at her game fell, placing Tease, who made things very lively till tbe favourite again got plaoed. Olose work followed, and when both rushed into the hare the cap came off. Harpsiohord and Spot had a rattling spin, the work of both being good; but the daughter of Harmony outstayed her opponent, and scored a good win when the hare was pulled down. Bessie Bell easily put ont Annie Stewart in a course of fair length, puss egain being killed. •WATBBXOO OUP.
