The police report was favourable. The Talbot Hotel, Taldhurst. — Transfer from the trustee in the estate of John Franks to William Mason. Mr Button appeared for the applicant, and also asked for an extension of hours. The police reported favourably on the house. Feathers Hotel.— On behalf of J. A. Hansmann, licensee, Mr Maude applied for an extension of hours to 11 o'clock, which would place the applicant in the same position as he had been before the new Act. Mr Maude supported the application by several arguments showing the hardship of closing at the early hour of 10 o'olook. Mr Hansmann gave evidence to the effect that the difference in his rooeipts was £10 a week since he had had to close at 10 o'clock. The Buih Inn, Biocarton.— Mr Webb applied for an extension of hours till 11 o'olock. The transfers were granted, and the ex* tension of hours was granted to Messrs Webb and Hangman. Mr Maude applied for leave for Mr Hansmann to sell at the booths in Hagley Park on the day of the Popular Sports, up to halfpast nine, as the Fire Brigade Demonstration would be held the same evening. Inßpeotor Pender opposed the extension beyond seven o'clock. Mr Maude urged that only temperance drinks would be sold. The Commissioners remarked that the Bale of temperance d.rinks required no license. The extension of hours beyond seven o'clook was refused. This was all the business.
