MANDEVILLE AND RANGIORA.
The quarterly meeting of the Mandoville and Bangiora Licensing Committee was held in the Woodend schoolroom yesterday at noon, at which all tho members of the Committee were present, Mr J. Hurse presiding. An application was received from Mr J. Conwey, White Crano Hotel, for an extension till 11 o'clook. Mr M. Nalder appeared in support of the application. The Committee having consulted, the Chairman said that the application would bo granted, as they were of opinion that the old Act was very satisfactory, and that 11 o'clock was a very convenient hour to close. An application was made for a transfer of the license of the Hoyal Hotel, Woodend, from Mr M. Thompkins to H. Lee, but as the Committee had nothing before them as to the character of the latter, and the police know nothing of him, they declined to grant the transfer. Thi« concluded tho business.
