WEATHER REPORT.
Bbmabks. At all the stations the barometer has risen vapidly since yesterday, the readings of today being much higher than for some time past. The highest reading is at the Bluff, where the mercury has advanced from 29.78 to 30 44.
Weather at 9 o'olock this morning:— Bluff, calm, fine ; Dunedin, fresh south-weet wind, fine; Oamaru, calm, fine; Hokitika, south-east breeze, fine; Bealey, light east wind, cloudy.
Sea, smooth on East Coast; moderate on West Coast.
High water at Lyttelton to-morrow:— Morning, 8.25 ; afternoon, 8 62.
The following intercolonial weather exchange was received last night : — " Sydney, Thursday : A depression ia approaching the S.W. of Australia. The weather is overcast and rain has set ia from the N.W. in west Australia and Tasmania. It is still fine in south and east Australia. Barometer : Fortland, 30-1; Hobart, 300; Albany, 29 8; Sydney, 302."
