7.NTKRPKOVINCIAL MATOH.
The following was telegraphed yesterday as the team to play for Otago against Canterbury:—
Backi — Forwards — Messrs Hewlings Messrs J. Allan Wheeler Jewett Half-backs— Gibb Messrs Murray Mills W. Allan Milno Quarter-backs — M'Kinnon Mossrs .Hoeo (Oapt.) Reid Hamorton Tjuwoa Wyink.«.
The average weight all round is given at 12it 21bs. A change has been maie in tho Canterbury team. HarLland is unablo to play, and Spraggo will tako his placo. We learn by private letter from Dunedin that the betting there is in favour of the local men ; and on paper (hoy certainly appear to have somewhat tho beut of it. Their great etrongth is in their back-players, with whom oura, we are afraid, cannot compare. Tho Canterbury forwards, however, have always proved themnelves superior to the Otago men hitherto, and we trust that en this occasion they will bo found no lees capable of supporting tho honour of tho Province. A clofe match ia looked forward to on all hands, moro # especially &o the last throe having been drawn, both teams i-.ro sure to put forth every endeavour to secure a decided success this time.
