SOUTH AUSTRALIA,
The prospectus is issued of the Cooper Downs Pastoral Company, which proposes to take up 6832 miles of territory in South Australia and New South Wales, with a view to squatting on a largo scale. The capital is fixed at £250,000, in £10 shares.
Camballo was shipped to India yestorday by the Malwa.
Tko Treasurer, in delivering the Budget speech last night, entered into the following details : — He estimated the debit balance on June 80 nexfc at £58,000. He considered that a study of tho progress of the Colony during tho last ten years showed the finances were quite as satisfactory as was to be expected. 20,000 persona had entered the Colony, assisted by Government, within the past five years. The amount borrowed averaged £40 per head of population. From the last loan Government obtained £140,000 in excess of tho amount expected. The Agent-General advised that the interest would bo reduced when a loan is next issued.

QUEENSLAND.
The Detached Squadron anchored at Brisbane yesterday. The drivo through the Botanical Gardens was illuminated with lanterns, rockets were Bent up, bonfires and coloured fires liehted, and 15,000 people lined the roads. A public reception will lake plnco to-day. The Assembly has agreed upon an address of welcome.
