THE GOOD TEMPLARS

An excellent littlo freo entertainment was givon in the Templar Hall last evening by members of the Soutnorn Cross Lodge of Good Templars, assisted by members of sister Lodges. Tho chair was taken by Bro Hugh Bennetts, who was supported by Bros King and Captain Davis, of the barque John Knox. A varied and well arranged programme was submitted, in which a prominent feature was the partBinging. A brief address was given by the Rev H. C. M. • Watson, who oxplained tho objects and modo of working of the National Alliance now in course of formation in New Zealand, and stated hi* intention of convening a meeting, at an early dato, of representatives of tho various temperance bodies, with the viow of establishing a branch of the National Alliance in Christchurch.
