Wednesday, July 24. (Before Dr Donald, Esq., R.M., and J. T_ Rouse, Esq.) Assattlt. — Thomas Holder was charged by JamesPaync with this offence. Mr H. N. Nalder appeared for the defendant. Complainant stated that on July 17, after the hearing of a previous case, defendant accosted him in the street, and asked him if he was satisfied. He then spit in his face. Three witnesses were caUed who confirmed complainant's evidence. A witness stated that defendant did not spit in Payne's face, hut that he spit at him in a contemptuous manner.
