CHRISTCHURCH. This Dat. (Before C. Whitefoord, Esq., R.M.) Dbttnkexness.— A first offender waa fined ss. Mary Kennedy, alias Wallace, was fined 20s. Henry Snowden was remanded to> Lyttelton for medical treatment. William Calahan, chai-ged with indecent exposure in. a railway carriage, was fined 40s and cost of cab, Is. Larceny. — James Finn was charged witnt the larceny from a shop, of a pair of boots,, value Ids, the property of George Gordon. The boots were identified by Mra Gordon,. and Samuel Stewart, Pawnbroker, deposed that accused offered to sell him the boots produced for lis, stating that they were his-own. Witness declined to purchase, but took them, in pledge for Gi. Detective Benjamin stated that he arrested the prisoner at the White Hart Hotel, on the previous afternoon. Accused, when charged with larceny, said — " The boots that I pledged at. Stewards are mine; I made them myself." It was explained that Mr Gordon was a cripple, and was totally unable to attend at the Court, he was subject to fainting fits. Accused was sentenced to three months' imprisonment with hard labour.
