Members of the Pongakawa Branch of the W. E. A; are to be congratulated on the unqualified success which attended their rendering of two one act plays staged in the Pongakawa Hall on Friday last. Despite the inclemency of the weather, there was a large and appreciative audience. The first play ‘‘Grand Chams Diamond” was enacted by: Misses Morris, Bell and N. Bostock and Messrs L. Pearce and Treganna. This was followed by ‘‘Our Dear Departed” played by Mrs J. Phillips, Misses E. Pearce and Kenny x and Messrs Downey, Pettit and F. Kenny. Especial praise is due to Miss E. Pearce and Miss Mor* ' ris for their excellent performances in their respective parts, After supper,danoing continued* until a late hour, the Plantation W Orchestra supplying the rausio,
