NEW AERODROMES.
STATEMENT AT DUNEDIN. GOOD PROGRESS MADE. MINISTER SATISFIED. [By Telegraph.—Press Association], DUNEDIN, Sept, 20. The Minister for Defence, Mr. F. Jones, states that arrangements were ivell forward for the commencement of major construction work on the preparation of the new aerodrome at Whenuapai. The estimated cost would be £56,000.
Mr. Jones also expressed satisfaction with the progress made with the construction of the Royal New Zealand Air Force at Ohakea.
Whenuapai is 10 miles from Auckland and Oluikea is 24 miles from Feilding. These two projected aerodromes have been put in hand as part of the major scheme for the improvement and extension of the Dominion's military airport system.
