THAMES ELECTORATE.
13,597 NAMES ON THE ROLL.
INCREASE ON LAST ELECTION.
The supplementary roll for the Thames electorate contains 2107 names,
according to advice received from the returning officer, Mr. C. A. Montgom-
one. On the main roll there are 11,490 names, thus making a total for the electorate of 13,597, In 1935, the two rolls contain?'] 11,952 names. Since the last election, of course, the boundaries have hem altered.
MANY NEW VOTERS. INTEREST IN DUNEDIN. INCREASE IN REGISTRATION. [By Telegraph.—Press Association]. DUNEDIN, Sept. 26. The exceptional interest which is being taken in the general election is indicated in an increase in tho total number of electors on the general and supplementary rolls, the grand total of registrations for the four city electorates being 64,241, whereas in 1935 tho grand total for tho four eity electorates and Chalmers was 62,668.
In consequence of the alteration of boundaries 2500 electors were lost to Dunedin and transferred to Oamaru or Central Otago, so that with the elimination of the Chalmers registrations this year’s totals show very material increases on those for 1936.
