He wIL remain in the Dominion till the end oi August, having come as the result 01 an offer by the Carnegie Corporation to place an expert in rural economics and research at the service of the recently established Bureau of Social Science Research. "Rural sociology is just good sociology at work in the country," he said. The visitor explained that rural sociology in America had the effect of making farmers' organisations more effective both in agriculture and social relationships. It opened up aspects of farming life which were probably never realised.
