Topsy-Turvy Car.

MOUMOUKAI ACCIDENT,

AUCKLAND, Jan. 8

Three people narrowly escaped death or serious injury when tho motor-car in which they were travelling from Papakura to Mouinoukai, beyond Hunua, left the road on the Moumoukai Hill about six o'clock last evening, and crashed to the bottom of the gorge, about 120 ft. below. The occupants, Mr. K. J. McCardle, a farmer, Mrs. E. McCardle and Miss Piggott, all of Moumoukai, were thrown out one after the other as the car turned over several times, but only one, the driver, suffered injuries necessitating admission to hospital. He fractured an arm and received neck and shoulder lacerations. The other two escaped with abrasions.
