Social Evening.

CHURCHMEN ENTERTAINED. THAMES WESLEY FELLOWSHIP. There was a good attendance of Thames churchmen at the Methodist Sunday schoolroom, Mackay Street, on Monday evening, when the Wesley Fellowship entertained the members of St. George's Men's Society. Mr. J. W. Danby, who presided, cordially welcomed the visitors. An interesting programme included the singing of favourite hymns, recitations by Messrs. C. J, Garland and J. Pinnock, a song by Mr. R. J. Fowler, and quartette numbers by the Huaraki Plains Quartette. Mr. W. Marshall officiated at "the piano. The Rev. H. B. Hughes, M.A., 8.D., gave an instructive address on "How the Mind Works," and Mr. H. Gallop gave very interesting reminiscences of the Boer War.

After supper, the Rev. A. G. Dawson, on behalf of the visitors, returned thanks to the members of the Methodist Fellowship for the enjoyable evening provided.
