NGATEA CLUB. LAST SEASON'S SUCCESS. THE ANNUAL MEETING. At the annual meeting of the Ngatea Cricket Club on Thursday, the president, Mr. E. A. Mahoney, pre* sided, and there was an attendance of 15 members and intending members.

In reporting on the past season the president stated that the club had been rescusitated after several years' inactivity, . and had had a very successful first season. The senior team had, as the season progressed, developed into a good combination and there had been no dearth of younger players, although there was no competition available for these.

From a financial aspect the club had reason to congratulate itself. It had been faced with the laying down of a new pitch and purchase of playing material and matting, and despite this had finished the year with a very small deficit. In competition play the senior team had finished well up in the list. Several friendly matches had been played by a junior team.

A tribute was paid to the captain, Mr. C. Laurence, whose policy in selecting teams had been to give all the younger players an opportunity of playing in senior matches. The following officers were elect•d for the season:—

Patron, Mr. H. Dent; president, Mr. E. A. Mahoney; vice-presidents, Messrs. C. S. Foster, H. Hayward, F. Stimpson, C. S. Schultz, J. Spence and W. Ratcliffe; secretary, Mr. N. Laurence; captain, Mr. C. Laurence; vice-captain, Mr. E. Bowman; delegates to Hauraki Plains Cricket Association, captain and vice-cap-tain.

It was decided to commence practice immediately. The delegates to the Association were instructed to urge a junior competition. Subscriptions were fixed at 7/6 for ordinary members and 3/6 for factory workers and schoolboys.
