GOOD COMPETITION.

The Farmers' Co-op. Auctioneering Co., Ltd. report: —

At the weekly stock sale in the Frankton yards on Tuesday, July 14. we penned a smaller yard'iug of fat sheep, and also a much smaller yarding of beef. Fat sheep met with good competition and sold at increased rates. There was a small yarding of store sheep which consisted of empty ewes, also a very small yarding of cow beef, with a medium yarding of ox, prices remaining on a par with last week's quotations. No dairy cattle Avcre offered at this sale. There was a small yarding of all classes of pigs with prices firm at late rates. "We quote: — Sheep.—Fat wethers, IG/- to 17/8; medium, 13/8 to 15/-; light. 11/8 to 13/-; prime 2-tooth ewes and wethers, 17/-; killable ewes, 8/-; empty ewes, 6/9; fat lambs, up to 18/-; medium, 15/- to 16/-; smaller", 12/11 to 13/6. Beef.—Medium fat steers. £7/2/6 to £7/4/-; Fght, £6 to £6/10/-; small, £4 to £5/14/-; heavy fat eows, £5/5/- to £6/10/- light, £2/15/- to £3/10/-; store cows, 22/6 to 30/-; yearling Jersey heifers, £2/10/- to £2/14/-; boner cows, 15/-.
