The Thames Auction Mart reports: Poultry was in fair supply and demand at last Saturday's market, but, both fruit and, vegetables were somewhat dull of sale; Eggs continued plentiful and cheap. Quotations:— ; Poultry::Hens, 2/6 to 3/6; roosters, 2/- to 3/-; cockerels, 3/3 to 4/6; ducks, 3/6. Fniit: Apples, • -Stunners, 12/6; Delicious, 14/6 j. Doughertys,. 11/- pert bushel case. Oranges, 22/6 per case; 2/6 to 3/- per dozen. Lemons, 1/- peldozen. Bananas, 4d to 5d per lb. -
Vegetables: Potatoes, 6/6; onions, 6/-; kumeras, 6/-;. swedes,, 3/6 per sugar bag; pumpkins.. 4/- to. 6/- per •dozen; cabbages. 2d Hon 6d each' 1/to 4/6 per. dozen; cauliflowers, 3d to 9d each, 21- to 6/- per .dozen; carrots, parsnips, turnips and beet,; 9d to 1/3 per dozen bunches. Eggs, hen. 1/3 to 1/4; duck, 1/3; pullet. 1/1 per dozen; honev, 1/2 per 21b. tin.
A small offering of furniture and sundries met poor competition from a medium attendance of buyers.
We offered a farm at Ngatea on behalf of the mortgagee but same was passed in at £36 per acre, and is now for sale bv private treaty.
