OBITUARY.
EX-JUDGE DAVY.
FORMERLY OF THAMES.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 2. The death is reported of Mr. George Boutflower Davy, formerly Chief Judge of the Native Land Court, at his residence, Wadestown, at the age of 94. He arrived in New Zealand] from Devonshire in the ship Indian. Empire in 18G2, and was apppdnted Warden and Resident Magistrate at Thames in 1869 and District Land Registrar at Auckland two years later. Ho then became Registrar General of .Lands in 1875 and Chief Judge of the Native Land Court in 1894. He retired in 1904. In '1863 he married Miss Liddell, of Auckland.' Five memljers of the 'family survive.'
MISS MARY V. GIBSON. ?■ (By . Telegraph.—j Press Association.) CHRISTCkURCH, Sept. 2. The death is reported of Miss MaryVictoria Gibson, for SO years principal of Christchurch Girls' High School. She retired early this year.
