THAMES MARKET REPORT.
The Thames Auction Mart reports: Moderate supplies of poultry met a fair demand at last Saturday’s market. Fruit wa«s unchanged and rather smaller supplies of vegetables sold at late rates. Eggs were firmer. Poultry.—Hens, 2/6 to 3/-; pullets, 2/9 to 3/9; cockerels, 3/-; ducks, 3/to 4/-; geese 7/9 each
Fruit.—A poles: Delicious, ' 14/-; Stunners, 12/6; Dougherty, 9/6 to 11/-; Yates, 7/6 to 9/- per bushel case. Pears: Winter Coles, 10/- per bushel case. Oranges, 2/6 to 3/-; lemons, 9d to 1/-; Poormari oranges (N.Z. Grapefruit), 1/- per dozen; bananaf?, 5d oer lb.
Vegetables.—Potatoes, 7/6; onions, 7/6; swedes, 3/6; kumeras, 6/6 per sugar bag; pumpkins, 5/- to 8/- per dozen; cabbage, 1/- to 6/- per dozen; cauliflowers, 6d to 1/- each; rhubarb, 6d; locks, 6d; celery, 2/6 per bundle ; carrots, parsnips, turnips and beet, lOd to 1/3 per dozen hunches. Eggs: Hen, 1/8; duck, 1/6; pullet, 1/4 per dozen. Bacon, 7d to 10d per lh.; honey, 1/2 per 21b. tin. A medium catalogue of household furniture and sundries met fair competition from a good attendance of buyers.
On Friday last we submitted to auction a dwelling on the comer of Baillie and Richmond Streets when isame was bought in by the second mortgagee.
