GOOD FISHING.
IN BAY OF PLENTY
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) TE PUKE, Aug. 12.
Fishing in the Bay \has been exceptionally good this season, and a great catch was made on Friday by Mr. Robert Curtis, of Maketu. Singlehanded, in five hours’ fishing in the vicinity of Plate Island, he caught 35£ dozen scbnapper. However, his catch of 45 dozen in 1927 hats not been surpassed by himself or any other fisherman in the Bay of Plenty. Another good catch, of 75 dozen, was made by three men in six hours’ fishing.
Hie weather has been ideal for fishing and the sea has been calm, with little current.
