MONTHLY MEETING
Tlie monthly meeting of the Women’s National Reserve was held in St. George’s Parish Hall, on Friday, March 1. Tlie members present were: Mrs. <E. F. Adams (president), in the chair; Mesdames McLaren, Newman, Thorburn, Scanlon, Ritchie, Holman, Hockley, Hayward, Green and Long (lion, secretary and treasurer). Apologies were received from Lloyd, Miller, Dalton. Adamson, Jonassen, Watson and Miss Reid.
Letters of Thanks.
Letters of thanks from the Matron of the Old Peoples’ Homes for the motor drive, the special tea. and for the Christmas presents presented to the inmates; from a returned soldier (invalid); and from the Matron of the Thames Hospital in which she conveyed thanks and appreciation of the members of the staff and of the patients in the hospital and maternity annexe, for the cheque sent by the Societv for the purchase of gifts for the Christmas Tree; for the monthly motor drives and the two deck chairs (with extensions) for usq-of patients. ■ ' ’ , ; New Armchairs. It was proposed that the money realised from a “guessing” competition should be used for the purchase of two sea-grass armchairs from the Blind Institute for use in the Womens Ward and maternity annexe. Tire date for the next social was postponed till the meeting in .April.
