,Mr. J. Buchan, junr., has been offered and has accepted the position of conductor to the Thames Methodist choir and has already commenced his duties. The Choir is looking forward to a continuance of the good work which has established its reputation in the district and is to be congratulated on securing the services of Mr. Buchan, whose musical abilities are well known. . Dr. D. N. W. Murray, C.M.G., D. 5.0., M.D., who has occupied the position of police and prisons surgeon in Auckland for the past twenty years, has tendered his resignation to the Minister of Justice (Hon. T. M. Wilford). . Cabinet this morning approved the appointment of Mr. H. P. Harper, of Levin, to the Magistracy, vice Mr. M. Cruickshank, S.M.. of Otago, who has retired (says a Press Association wire from Wellington).
