FALL FROM A BICYCLE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) , AUCKLAND, Oct. 24. Mervyn Knight, aged 13, residing at Mangere, was seriously injured by a fall from his bicycle while riding home from school at Onghunga. He died at the Auckland Hospital this morning.

AN ECCENTRIC MAN. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) PUTARURU, Oct. 24. The body of a man, since identified as Edward Langton Bennett, was found in the Pokai River, about four miles from Putaruru, on Thursday. At the inquest it was shown that deceased,' who had been farming in the district for the past 18 months, was inclined to be eccentric in habits, and lived alone. He was a native of South Australia, and apparently had no relatives in New Zealand. A verdict of found drowned, no evidence to show, how deceased got, into the water, was returned.
