Mr Shepherd wired to Auckland to-day as follows; “Three or four pounds of picked stone selected from quartz fallen down while stripping No. 3 reef and No. 5 level, gold showing iij face.” The stone, of which Mr R. Kilgour has a sample, looks very favourable, the gold showing freely for about If inches by 8 inches.
