Mr. R- H. Boyd, Chief Postmaster at Thames, assumed his duties to-day. Archdeacon' Cowie and Mrs. Cowie, of Hamilton, with their family are spending a holiday down the Coast. Mr R. Ormsby, of To.Kuiti, with Mrs. Ormsby and family, are among the campers down tho Coast. Dr. and Mrs. Douglas (Hami-ton) are spending the holidays at their cottage down the Coast. , Mr. Marriott, manager of the National Electrical and Engineering Co. Hamilton, is among the holiday makers down the Coast Colonel J. J. Esson has been appointed secretary of the Treasury, vice Mr. Gampbell. Colonel Esson originally was in the Postal Service and later transferred to the Treasury. He served on Gallipoli and elsewhere with distinction. On Sunday last Dr. J. harson Jones concluded his ministry at Thames. At tho close of the evening service, Mr. H. F. Purnell, with a few feeling words, expressive of tho respect and love in .which Dr. Jones Avas held in the Church and community, presented the- docto-' Avith a cheque for £2O on behalf of the congregation. The proceedings Avert brought itfo a fitting conclusion by tho singing of “God be with you till we'meet again.” -
