Occidental: Driving operations: on the course of the Hague-Smith reef ire still in progress. There is no change in the nature of the country. It is still of a good description for gold. During the week we ■ passed through a small leader, about sin thick, which contains minerals of a very favorable character. There are numerous mineral and silica veins •rossing the face as the drive is advanced. Iron Cap: We are stoping out what appears to be fair grade dirt. The reef is about 18in, and well mineralised. We have about nine tons in the 1 paddock, and are taking down the *eef. The men, having finished getting the mining timber, will start in the stope next week. I will send the quartz to the mill'when the, County finish the road. . May Queen Extended: The contractors for the first 100 feet completed their contract on Monday, and to-day another contract has been let. The ground in the shaft continues good sandstone, with mineral seams traversing it.
