THAMES-HAURAKI.
During the week work, has been pushed oa to 3ft below the No. 11 'chanaberj where a set of bearers has been placed in position, and a further set of timber is now being put in. Phe work of clearing out and reopening No. 8 level, towards the Vanguard reef, is proceeding, and after No. 11 chamber is completely cleaned out and re-fitted the work of re-open-ing No. 11 leivel will be taken in hand. As the bottom of the wellhole is probably not more than 6ft away, this distance should be covered next week, and then sinking in solid country can be undertaken. A piece! of the old suction pipe, which 1 has been in the shaft since 1885, is to be sent by Mr. Dunlop to the School of Mines Museum.
