Petition for an Imprisoned Woman's Release.
Wellington, March 22,
A deputation of ladies waited on the Premier urging him to give effect to the petition presented him for the release of Mrs Locher. The woman is no*v detained during the pleasure of the Crown for shooting at George Norbury iv Harcourt and Co.'s auctionmart about a year ago. The Premier replied that the Government could not at present recommend her release. It is understood that Parliament will now be asked to move in the matter of obtaining her release duiing the record reign fete.
