(From Our Own Correspondent.) The concert in aid of the funds of the Indian relief tund eventuated on Friday; evening, March sth, in the schoolroom, and proved an unqualified sdecess. Captain Newby, who presided, opened the proceedings by stating the object of the concert, and the following programme comprising the first vpart of the entertainment was then gone on with :—Overture (piano), " The "Abyssinian Expedition," Mrs N H. F. A. Hummer and Miss Maud Robinson; song, " Her front name was Hannah," Mr Sam McMahon ; sorg, " Killarney," Miss Minnie Woods; duet, •« The Elfin Call," Mrs H. F. A. Plummer and Miss Laura Stephens ; song. "Sunshine of Paradise Alley," Mr Jonn Smith; encore, "Monte Carlo"; the school children, "The Glad May Morn " ; comic song, " The Christening," Mr John Ward ; song, "The Gipsy Girl." Miss Rosie Holt; recitation, " The Frenchman's Experience," Miss Annie Robinson ; song, "Her golden hair was hanging down her back," Mr J. Smith; song, ''Save my mother's picture from the sale/ Miss Woods; comic song, " Pity to waste it," and for an encore, "I couldn't,'' Mr Jas. King; song, " Mother, kiss your darling," Miss Maud Robinson ;song, " Clara Nolan's ball," Master Jack Ward. The chairman thanked the public for their patronage, and after an interval of ten . minutes the dance commenced, which was kept up with spirit for a couple of hours or so. The success which attended the entertainment was entirely due to the indefatigable energy of Miss M. Newby and Miss Holt who were most untiring in their efforts. Thanks are also tendered to Mrs Lament for the loan of her piano, to the lady accompanists, and to Mr Jas. Bennett fort' 'lance music, Mr A. Thompson and Mr Sam. McMaho' "ictotura.
