The Consul General ofFrance had a long interview with MrSeddon to-day. The first question which engaged attention was whether New Zealand agrees to send exhibits'to the Paris Exhibition. MrSeddon approved of the colony joining iv the British court and steps will be taken to give effect to the scheme. The next matter dealt with was as to whether New Zealand would he prepared to permit a French Cable Company to have; the use of the cable repairing steamer Turanekai in the event of any repairs being required to the Noumea cable. Mr Seddon stated he would lay the proposals before the Cabinet on his return to New Zealand for decision.
