Auckland, March 5.^ The University Senate concluded its session to-day and the members leave for the South to-morrow. Joseph Moody Simpson was admitted to the degree of B.A. (ad eundem). Various Bills to amend the statues were passed, the purport of which has been already telegraphed. The first biennial prize from the Bowen fund will be awarded in 1900. The value is £5. The McMillanBrown memorial prize essays, subject " Antarctica," must be in by the end of December, 1898. The prize will be awarded in March.
