John Ryley's Bankruptcy.

Dunedix, March 5. At the Supreme Court, John Ryley charged with breaches of the Bankruptcy Act, Mr Haggitt (Crown Prosecutor) prosecuted, and Messrs Sim and Fraser defended.
The indictment contained twenty one counts.
Ryley is charged with failing to keep books which were usual and proper, and doing so with intent to conceal his true position; with making payments for shares, etc, out of a business from which £20,000 had been withdrawn, and going in for rash and hazardous speculations; with contracting debts without reasonable expectation of being able to pay them; and with undue preference in payments made. The hearing has not yet concluded.
