Death of Mr John McKee.
This event took place yesterday evening at the Hospital, where the sufferer has been lying since the 15th instant, and where every care and attention has been bestowed upon him to alleviate his sufferings caused by the explosion in blasting work in the Manukau mine." The full extent of the fearful injuries were only fully revealed after death, and his death under such circumstances can only be regarded as a happy release. The deceased was conscious of his situation, and was during the last two days watched, over- by his brother, the Rev. James McKee from Masterton, who will have the melancholy satisfaction of seeing the last sad rites of burial performed. The funeral will leave deceased's residence on Saturday afternoon. He leaves a widow to deplore her loss, to whom he had been married less than 12 months. Deceased was 30 years of age. .
