CURE.
The operations in this mine are progressing favorably without any special find. Stoping on No. 4 and 5 as well as on the footwall lode, supply mill requirements, gold occasionally to be seen. These lodes overhead have not been worked on the north side of the slide, and will be followed so long as remunerative. There is fully 200 feet from head of stope to surface, and the whole block is available, as the country has been opened by levels on the south or Manukau side as also by the* company's shaft. Sinking the winze on No. 5 progresses well—the men are down 30 feet on good quartz; a winze has also been started on the foot wall lode. The cross-cut from the Caledonian shaft for the new level is going ahead satisfactorily.
