Pan-Pacifio Federation (N.Z.P.A.) WELLINGTON Dec. 5. Preliminary arrangements tor -'fie establishment of an Australian and New Zealand waterside workers executive were completed at the b - ennial conference of the New Zealand Waterside Workers' Union which lias been meeting in Wellington durinr the last fortnight. Two represent?t:v -of the Australian Waterside Workers' Federation who had flown from Sydney for the meeting gave their full -upport to th“ plan. Mr T. Hill. Secretarv c; the Nt Zealand Union, said to-tlay that the new executive w n uld explore the possibilities of a closer relationship between waterside workers on each side of the Tasman, and discuss the prii-i--of both organisations. Further, a PanPaciflc conference of waterside workers would be held at Auckland in February. at which, in addition to Australia’ representatives, there would be present two officers of the Longshoremen on the West Coast of America.

The Australian delegates who hate been attending the conference of the New Zealand Union in Wellington are Mr George Mullins. Secretarv of ‘he Sydney Branch of the Australian Federation, and Mr E. C. Roach, assistant general secretary md organiser of the Federation The first members of the new executive will be the President cf the Australian Waterside Workers' Federation. Mr J. Lonergan. the Secretary of the Australian Federation. M- J. Healy the Pres’dent of the New Zealand Union. Mr H. Barnes, of Auckland, and the Secretarv of the New Zealand Union. Mr T. Hill, of Wellington. The New Zealand representatives ar the Pan-Pacific conference will be Messrs Barnes and Hill
