FARMER KILLED
Crossing Accident (N.Z.P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, Sept 28 When the truck he was driving was struck by the Christchurch-Oaro express at Sefton at 9.30 a.m. to-dav James Wyllie. aged 7;>. farmer of ton, was killed instantly. Tlie express does not stop at Sefton and was travelling at a fast thee Wyllie. who was alone in the truck h id just left the station yard, the entrance of which is about a chain from * the level crossing in the township. The truck was smashed Io pieces and the locomotive was considerably damaged The leading bogie of the first carriage was derailed and dragged along the permanent way for nearly a quarter of a mile before the train was stopped A relief engine was sent from Waipara and the express continued on its journey at 11.45 a.m
