Appointment 1 o Harbour Board iF.OP.R3 WELLINGTON. Sept. 27. Reference to the appointment of a representative to fill a vacancy on the ■ Timaru Harbour Board was made in 1 rhe House to-day by Mr D C. Kidd National. Waitakii. In a notice of • question he asked the Minister of I Marine whether he would explain why I i unanimous recommendation from i the Waimate County Council and WaiI mate Borough Council for the appomt- | mcnt of a certain person was not given effect to. the Minister appointing a man who had previously taken no active part in local body work m the particular district. Mr Kidd said the nominee of the Borough Council and the County Council was a veteran of two wars. In the present war he was a prisoner in Germany for four years. Before going overseas he was a member of the Walmat' 1 County Corneil, his seat be--1 ins held for him until his return. The man appointed bv the Minister was not I a returned - -
