KINGSDOWN
Red Cross Sub-Centre There was a large attendance at the monthly meeting of the Red Cross Subcentre which was held at the home of Mrs Bartholomew. Miss E. Rooney presided. Congratulations were extended to Mrs D. Smith on the birth of a daughter. Mrs E. Wolff presented the balancesheet of the recent social which showed a pleasing profit. It was decided to give £5O to an overseas relief to be decided on by the committee. Mrs Ivey reported that the sub-centre would receive material for sewing as soon as it was available at the depot. The president thanked all who were doing knitting.
Women’s Division
Mrs Ellis presided over the monthly meeting of the Women’s Division. Mrs W. Farrow and Miss N. Campbell were welcomed as members. The president read several of the remits to be presented at the conference. For the Golden Thread Miss Rooney gave a short talk on the winter care of dahlias. Hostesses were Mrs Bartholomew and Miss M. Rayner.
