RAILWAY BUSES
Double Pay Demanded For Sunday Work
(N.Z.P.A.) WELLINGTON. Jan. 13. The railway bus services on the Wel-lington-Hutt and Wellington-Ngaio-Khandallah routes will be affected by the decision of the Petone motor service branch of the A.S.R.S. not to operate buses on Sundays. The branch states that at a special meeting held at midnight on Tuesday the drivers decided not to work on Sundays until they are granted double rates of pay, bringing them into line with the remainder of the railway servants.
The Railways Department declined to make any statement when interviewed about the matter to-day.
