SPEEDY RUGBY

New Zealanders Beat British Team CAIRO. January 10. Speedy Rugby was again played by a New Zealand Expeditionary Force side at the week-end when they defeated the Cairo area British team 16-6. The New Zealanders’ tries were scored by Kilschberg (two), G. F. Hart, the All Black, who played a grand game, and Ratema, the Maori crack swimmer, who as wing-threequarter, scored the prettiest try of the match. Cairo’s points came from a dropped goal from a mark and a penalty. The match attracted a crowd of 5000 to the Gizera sporting ground. The New Zealand team was beaten in the set scrums, but the forwards controlled the game in the loose. Although the match was not up to the standard of that in which the New Zealanders beat the Springboks it was interesting throughout, with brilliant patches.
