RETURNED SOLDIERS
Deferred Pay Due
WELLINGTON, January 8.
Soldiers who have served overseas, been grade IV. and discharged, should receive their deferred pay towards the end of next week, it was announced at Base Records to-day. The warrant will be posted to the soldier’s last known address and must be presented to the post office for payment. The cases of other returned men whose medical grading is 111. will be reviewed by the Staff Officer of the Sick and Wounded Branch at Army Headquarters (Wellington) in order of the men’s return to New Zealand, and if it is verified that the medical condition is such that they will not be called upon for further military service, then the Director of Base Records in Wellington will be advised and tie will see that payment is made as soon as possible. Any returned soldier whose medical grading is either I. or 11. w’ill not receive the deferred pay unless he is reclassified in grade in. or IV.
