ESCAPEES CAPTURED
AUCKLAND. January 8. The two Auckland prison escapees. Daniel McMullan and Stanley Thomas Port, were recaptured by a police night patrol near the boatsheds at Tamaki Drive. No resistance was offered. At 4.45 a.m. the police saw the men walk from some bushes towards the boatsheds. A detective stopped them and handcuffed them. The prisoners were charged before the Magistrate (Mr F. H. Levien) this morning with escaping from lawful custody, and remanded until Monday.
