Steeplechase Won By Riotous Friesland Scores In Mcßae Cup (P.A.) HAWERA, May 8. The Egmont Racing Club's winter meeting opened in fine weather. The track was slightly holding. The totallsator handled £16,481, compared with £18,172 last year, a decrease of £1691. A. Lord was fined £5 for not riding Aussie Ra out at the finish of the Egmont Steeplechase, being deprived of third money on the post. An inquiry was opened concerning the running of Minority in the Hawera Handicap, and adjourned till Saturday morning.
